Tandem :
Tandem was created in 1982 by the City of Montréal in response to a substantial increase in residential break-ins. Over the years, the program has evolved to become the Programme montréalais de soutien à l’action citoyenne en sécurité urbaine dans les arrondissements (Tandem). The program aims to improve the security of people, property and communities through the dissemination of crime prevention advice. Action Surveillance Verdun became an official partner organization of the program in August 2004, thus enabling it to offer all of Tandem’s core services as well as giving it an active voice in Tandem’s decision-making process.
Mr. Henri-François Gautrin, MNA for Verdun (National Assembly of Québec):
Mr. Henri-François Gautrin, MNA for Verdun and Minister for Online Government, granted Action Surveillance Verdun $ 2,000 for the creation of the organization’s website. This informational tool will enable the organization to reach a broader audience, as well as disseminate safety-related information. Mr. Gautrin also contributed financially towards the organization’s information meetings for 2005-2006.
Montréal Police Department (SPVM):
The Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) has been an Action Surveillance Verdun partner since 1999. The SPVM supplies ASV with free office space, participates in the organization’s activities, and provides it with residential break-in statistics.
Verdun Borough:
In 1999, the Verdun Borough recognized the importance of crime prevention by granting a recurring annual subsidy to Action Surveillance Verdun. This subsidy ensures the organization’s operations, as well as the creation of many crime prevention-related activities. The Borough also supplies the organization with several services, further contributing to the dissemination of information to the citizens of Verdun.
Thank you to all our partners! With their generous support, we can pursue our mission of improving Verdun’s citizens’ quality of life by reducing crime.
